Fire Training

Rubbish FireWe are able to provide any form of fire safety training that you may require for your staff, from basic fire safety awareness training, fire extinguisher training, fire warden training and fire safety management training, all of which include live fire extinguisher training.

If required to deliver a fire safety course on your behalf, the course can be adapted to include specific details of the evacuation plan etc, at no extra cost.

When conducting live fire training, the maximum delegates that should attend is 15, as this complies with HSE guidelines for conducting this training.  However, prior to conducting the live fire training, a full risk assessment is undertaken to ensure the venue is suitable. Delegate numbers can be tailored and have provided seminars for the theory side of the training for larger groups of staff.

Our trainer is fully insured to complete live fire training and holds both public liability and professional indemnity coverage.

Our trainer is an experienced ex fire service officer with19 years service and his qualifications for this work include the modules A and B of the fire safety enforcement officer from the Fire Service College, a NEBOSH general certificate in Health and Safety and a BTEC in Fire Risk Management from Edexcel. He also has a professional trainers certificate for CIEH for whom he is also an accredited trainer.  He is a member of the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers, an associate of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers and an associate of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Managers.

Training

21.-(1) The responsible person must ensure that his employees are provided with adequate safety training—

  • a) at the time when they are first employed; and
  • b) on their being exposed to new or increased risks because of—
    • their being transferred or given a change of responsibilities within the responsible person’s undertaking;
    • the introduction of new work equipment into, or a change respecting work equipment already in use within,the responsible person’s undertaking;
    • the introduction of new technology into the responsible person’s undertaking; or(iv)the introduction of a new  system of work into, or a change respecting a system of work already in use within, the responsible person’s undertaking.

(2) The training referred to in paragraph (1) must—

  • (a)include suitable and sufficient instruction and training on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by the employee in order to safeguard himself and other relevant persons on the premises;
  • (b)be repeated periodically where appropriate;
  • (c)be adapted to take account of any new or changed risks to the safety of the employees concerned;
  • (d)be provided in a manner appropriate to the risk identified by the risk assessment; and
  • (e)take place during working hours.
